MagCAT prevents scale

Fluid Dynamics International, the UK-based manufacturer of hard water scale prevention systems, has launched MagCAT, the product of almost 40 years' experience in treating difficult scales such as those from water containing high levels of sulphate, silica or phosphate and where oil contamination is present.MagCAT uses powerful magnets encased in poleheads manufactured out of the same metal that is used for the catalytic core of Fluid Dynamics' Colloid-A-Tron. The calcium carbonate particles that are formed when hard water is heated remain in suspension after this magnetic treatment instead of precipitating as scale on pipework and heat transfer surfaces.
