Resisting corrosion

Thanks to its flexibility, ease of use and speed of installation, steel wire tray has been a popular choice with consultants and M&E contractors for 30 years. For water and wastewater treatment plants, however, the threat of damp and corrosive environments has led to a more conservative approach to cable management. However, Cablofil steel wire tray was given WIMES (Water Industry Mechanical 8c Electrical Specification) approval last year and, while it remains the only system that meets the specification criteria outlined in Issue 4 of WIMES 3.02 (LV Electrical Installations), the move has made steel wire tray cable management a much more viable option.
