But a different kind of honour will befall George Bush if a citizens group in San Francisco gets its way. The Presidential Memorial Committee of San Francisco wants to pay tribute to Dubya when he leaves office in January 2009 by naming a sewage plant after him. More than 12,000 signatures on a petition to the San Francisco Department of Elections have been submitted. If at least 7,168 of those signatures are valid, the question of whether to rename Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant after the outgoing president will be added to the ballot papers in November's election. It could be called Bush's Bay Area Memorial or George W Bush Sewage Plant.
