The Falk Orange Peel rotating-machinery guard offers engineers a cost-effective solution for original and retrofit installations, backed by a three-year warranty, says manufacturer Rexnord. The Orange Peel complies with OSHA, ASME and ANSI standards. It is available in a number of different design configurations. The design options and adaptability of the guards ensure, Rexnord says, that all the problems associated with custom fabricated alternatives - such as preparing drawings, time delays and cost - are eliminated. The firm says: "Manufactured in either polyethylene or aluminium, the guards can be easily trimmed to size, following preformed cutting guides in the body and projecting shaft sleeves. Further flexibility is provided by bolt-on pedestal risers, which allow height to be increased.
