Irish incumbent eircom will use vectoring technology on the lastmilernelements of its fibre-optic next-generation access networkrn(NGAN). Vectoring will enable faster data transfer speeds, comparablernto those offered by cable operators; this will help reduce orrnreverse churn in eircom's core fixed-line business. Vectoring-enabledrnfacilities will also be offered to alternative operators on a wholesalernbasis. BMI believes this strategy is likely to yield a better return onrninvestment than the all-fibre upgrade strategy previously announced.rnWe now have a more bullish view on the NGAN's contribution torneircom's turnaround.
