On June 27 UK online grocery retailer Ocado announced a pre-tax nproft for the frst half of its fnancial year, but saw its share price ndip by 9% after concerns were raised over a slowdown in the frm’s nsales growth and capacity constraints. Shares in the UK upstart have nbeen particularly volatile since it launched an initial public offering nin July 2010 (see chart), with investors massively split on whether nit has a long-term future in the face of growing competition from nthe UK’s big four grocery retailers.
