The League board of directors recently adopted positions on the measures scheduled to appear on the November 2004 ballot. Proposition 1A, the constitutional amendment to protect local government revenues, represents the League's top priority. Thus, in order to focus the League's resources on securing voter approval of Prop. 1A, the board decided to take positions only on measures that have a compelling municipal interest. The board also affirmed the League's existing policy regarding Props. 59 and 72, adopted previously for SCA 1 (Burton) and SB 2 (Burton), respectively.
