Metal fabricators face the increasingly difficult challenge of reducing costs while improving product quality, productivity and the environment in which their workers function. In addition, high labor force turnover and lower skill levels are dictating a need for welding processes and materials that are easy to use and require less operator training. The gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process, used with a new generation of metal cored wires, has the potential to meet these current needs and be flexible enough to meet even more demanding requirements in the future.
