AC Pulsed GMAW Improves Sheet Metal Joining

摘要

One way to reduce global warming caused by the greenhouse gases is to reduce vehicle exhaust emissions. Vehicle emissions can be minimized by reducing their weight to improve fuel efficiency and thereby reduce the polluting gases. Because aluminum alloys are light, strong, and can be recycled, new models of cars and motorcycles made from thin aluminum alloys are currently under development and some products are already on the market. An improved welding technology is needed for mass producing cars and motorcycles, and to improve the quality and productivity of sheet metal joints in these aluminum alloys.
