Contact interaction of brazing melts with parent material when vacuum brazing aluminium alloys

摘要

On the basis of thermodynamic analysis and experimental investigations of contact interaction of brazing melts with the parent material, the author developed a method of fluxless welding aluminium alloys in vacuum furnaces. The method is based on using the metal/activator, i.e. magnesium, capable of fracturing the aluminium oxide film on the surface of the parent material, thus ensuring wetting and spreading of the brazing alloy and formation of a brazed joint when vacuum brazing aluminium alloys.
