Alaskan weather

Weak high pressure aloft remained over the Alaska mainland for the first 3 weeks of June. This brought partly cloudy weather to much of Alaska. Starting on the 20th, low pressure over southwest Alaska moved down to the Gulf of Alaska. A series of disturbances north of the low moved from the Yukon Territory toward southwest Alaska. These brought much cooler and rainier weather to most of the Interior.rnThe western Arctic was considerably warmer than normal. All of the Arctic except the eastern coast had above-normal precipitation. The south slopes of the Alaska Range and nearly all of Southeast Alaska had above-normal temperatures and less-than-normal precipitation.
