Most of western Canada was colder than normal. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon experienced temperatures 1 to 4℃ (2 to 7°F) lower than average. Manitoba had slightly cooler-than-average temperatures. Ontario and Quebec recorded temperatures 1 to 4℃ (2 to 7° F) above average. Most Atlantic provinces had similar anomalies. Newfoundland and Labrador were unusually warm, with temperatures 4 to 6℃ (7 to 11°F) higher than average. rnIn Atlantic Canada, warmer-than-average temperatures did not result in an exception to winter weather. A vigorous winter storm in the first days of February dumped 10 centimeters (4 inches) in Atlantic coastal areas and as much as 30 centimeters (12 inches) in inland areas of Nova Scotia.
