How many ways can you say "warm"? Climate scientists are pondering this question as Alaska experienced yet another warm month in April. According to rankings developed by the National Centers for Environmen' tal Information (formerly NCDC), this was, statewide, the 10th warmest April since 1925, and the sixth consecutive month that was significantly warmer than normal. Almost every climate station in the state was warmer than average, with the only exceptions being a few places in the Southeast Panhandle that were less than a degree below normal.
