Mild, dry weather dominated the country during November, allowing many people to enjoy an extended fall—right through Thanksgiving week. However, a few spots experienced periods of heavy rain. Specifically, a couple of rounds of rain drenched the lower Great Lakes region, while periodic precipitation affected the Northwest. However, high freezing levels often limited Northwestern snow accumulations to high-elevation sites. Meanwhile, occasional rain reached previously fire-ravaged areas of northern California. Late in the month, heavy rain briefly fell across parts of northern Florida.
