California Leads Way in Drinking Water Membrane Filtration

Membrane filtration has gained acceptance by CDPH in place of granular media filtration because of its improved reliability in remov-rning pathogens such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. MF/UF is seriously considered in most new WTP and expansion projects; however, some of the existing MF/UF plants have experienced operating and maintenance problems, such as excess fiber breakage, fouling and flux limitations.
