A £5.2m construction scheme for St Martins Property Corporation in Bermondsey is destined to become the Thames riverside's largest and greenest mixed-use development. It will contain shops and offices, over 600 homes, and have 13 wind turbine generators.rnDemolition contractor Cantillon has been contracted to clear the site, and to demolish the old Cold Stores at Chamber's Wharf. "We're using-the River Thames to transport waste from the site, as this method will heavily reduce the amount of carbon emissionsrnassociated with a fleet of road vehicles," said Cantillon's project manager Andy Dyson. "It will also significantly lessen the impact on local residents, and road congestion in the area."
