OBITUARY: Tony Mason, 1934 - 2010

Boaters across the UK have been paying tribute to Tony Mason, former chairman of the Association of Waterway Cruising Clubs, who died on 18th September after a short illness, aged 76. Current A WCC chairman David Pearce writes: I first met Tony 21 years ago as a member of the National Committee of the Association of Waterways Cruising Clubs. He became National Chairman shortly afterwards, served for 11 years in the post and did much to enhance the standing of the AWCC, particularly through his work on the Boat Safety Scheme. He later served as National User Group Representative on the BSS Management Committee.
