There were some very large wide-beams vying for attention at Crick this year, and among them was Viking Canal Boats' 65ft by 12ft 6in Gentle Giant. As well as sleeping up to eight people, this bespoke boat is powered by a hybrid diesel-electric system and also incorporates some impressive remote-control technology. No wonder there were queues of people waiting to get aboard throughout the show.
