THREE WEEKS ON THE FENS

We have had our own boat on the Scottish canals and hired other craft over a period of 40 years in England, Ireland,Canada and France, but we had never been to the Fens. We rented a cottage near Downham Market two years ago intending to visit Cambridge but so enjoyed the area between King's Lynn and Peterborough that we didn't get there. This year we returned, hiring a 47ft narrowboat from Fox Narrowboats in March (the town, not the month) for 18 days.
