The Derby & Sandiacre Canal Trust has appointed a full-time fundraiser, as a 25-year history of planning finally starts to see sections of the restoration return to water.The trust was founded in 1993 with the ambition of restoring the 12 1/2-mile link between the Trent & Mersey at Swarkestone and the Erewash Canal at Sandiacre, and see boats return to the city after a gap of over 60 years.
