摘要

Treatment of secondary municipal wastewater by membrane ultrafiltration (UF) has been investigated in China using a pilot UF system of a capacity of 500 tons product water per day. The UF system employed hollow fibre membranes made from polyacrylonitrile and was in continuous operation for a period of 2500 hours. During the period, the membrane UF system had stable and good performance, delivering key design outputs. These pilot-scale tests demonstrated the technical and financial viability of using UF as an economical mean of upgrading the quality of wastewater in conventional sewage treatment plants. The implications for Australia are also discussed, and a one-stop framework for project approvals, operation and maintenance is recommended which would encourage private sector participation in water reuse initiatives.
