Australia has a well-deserved international reputation as a leader in water technology, policy, management and research. But, by and large, we are missing a golden opportunity to profit in global markets from this international pre-eminence. If we can bring together and showcase our very significant private- and public-sector expertise, then 'water management and technology' could become a new high-value export product for Australia. eWater CRC is proposing a permanent working water 'expo', 'Waterscape', to promote the capabilities and products of Australian businesses, agencies and R&D organisations. An intensive feasibility study is currently exploring the concept. Waterscape, as conceived, will give Australia a world-leading water business showcase that will commercially stand us apart from all other countries.
