Sanitising rain water collected in a household tank that is intended as drinking water is a concern for many property owners. There is always the risk that bacteria can enter a stored water supply as a result of bird droppings, dust, dirt and decaying vegetable matter such as leaves, which can contribute contaminants such as E.coli or streptococci. Davey Water Products has released Acquasafe, a colourless, odourless and tasteless disinfectant which is proven to kill any accumulating bacteria load as well as protecting the water tank contents for periods up to two months. Acquasafe has non-toxic hydrogen peroxide liquid which is environmentally safe as it breaks down into oxygen and water, destroying in the process 99.9% of the bacteria and germs, leaving the water clean and treated.
