The Senate Committee was told tens of thousands of litres of contaminated water has leaked into Kakadu National Park every day from a tailings dam at the Ranger Uranium Mine.rnThe Northern Territory Government released a discussion paper as the first step in developing a Living Rivers Strategy. The discussion paper for community and stakeholder feedback will also involve community forums, with the Living Rivers Strategy expected to be released by the end of 2009. Submissions are invited until 30 June 2009.
