A new report, the first in The new Waterr 21 Market Briefing Series, has been produced for Water21 in collaboration with IWA's Specialist Group on Sludge Management. It provides regional perspectives on the diverse theme of wastewater sludge. As Dr Ludovico Spinosa explains in his opening contribution to a new report giving a global overview on the topic of wastewater sludge, the broad aims have been to address the following areas of interest in each of the main regions: 1. current wastewater and sludge treatment provision 2. current and anticipated legislation 3. current research horizons 4. anticipated evolution of management approaches 5. prospects for application of innovative and / or simple technologies.
