Success factors in the performance contract of Uganda's National Water and Sewerage Corporation

A performance contract with the Ugandan Government has helped turn around the fortunes of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation. The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), the major stakeholder in the provision of water and sewerage services in the urban precincts of Uganda, was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament with the main objective of providing water and sewerage services in a commercial and viable manner.
