Intensification of anaerobic digestion towards the energy self-sufficiency of municipal wastewater treatment

During the last ten years of operation many changes have been realized in the technological line including intensification of sludge treatment. Additionally, some non-standard situations and unexpected events, such as activation tanks and settlers' reconstruction or a catastrophic flood in 2002, contribute to the difficulty of the stable operational data evaluation.
