Modern Water is Mailing a new technology that the company is calling 'manipulated osmosis' or MO, in the village of Al Khaluf, Oman. Executive chairman Neil McDougall explains that the company has had a trial plant operating in Gibraltar for over a year, but was looking for a more challenging location. 'One of the attractions of Al Khaluf is that the conditions are extremely testing - extreme salinity and very hot weather. We were looking for a place to really test the system and this fitted the bill.'
