IWA and partners undertake training workshop for membership associations

IWA, the European Water Association (EWA) and the German Water Association (DWA) staged a five-day training workshop in June at the DWA Headquarters in Hennef aimed at water and waste-water membership associations. Attendees representing associations from Romania, Albania, Yemen, Palestine and Kenya learned about the experiences of IWA, EWA and DWA in running a successful organization. Key themes, such as creating a financially sustainable association, how to remain credible and relevant, institutional arrangements and good governance, organising events, knowledge management and publications, and more was discussed. This work supports IWA's global efforts to promote the role of membership associations in the water and sapitation sector.
