Preparations for the post-2015 global development agenda continue. The latest key contribution, due as Water21 went to press, is the final report of the High-level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda -the most prominent contribution to date from the political arena, the arena which will ultimately determine the agenda. These preparations will evolve into negotiations, and they will no doubt run right to the last moment. The challenge from a water perspective is to ensure water is prominent in the issues of concern - which currently appears to be the case - and to keep it prominent right until the post-2015 goals and targets are agreed.
