Global Water Engineering develops new agribusiness wastewater system

Global Water Engineering says that its new COHRAL technology, which uses a covered high rate anaerobic lagoon, has been developed for agribusinesses to reduce odour and increase the quality of treated effluent. The first example is now being engineered by CST Waste Water Solutions in Australia. It eliminates odours that can be associated with open lagoons often used in meat, dairy and crop waste processing, says the company. The methane produced can be collected for use. The first COHRAL installation in Australia, to be employed at a meat processing and packing plant, will fuse biogas in the boilers. Each anaerobic lagoon is covered by a special floating membrane to retain the methane produced.
