Engineering of Water Systems

In our last installment in January, we outlined the necessary elements associated with the proper reconnaissance and inspection of a large water system.rnWe began with the many factors one must consider during the front end of a modification or expansion of an existing large water system. We will now detail the same work required when planning for a new water system.rnFirst a disclaimer. As I have said in past articles, the information I will relate regarding the engineering of water systems is for providing a basic and generic understanding of the principles involved in the practice of planning and designing larger potable water systems. It is not intended to be used as a design guide or engineering manual, nor to be used to circumvent or used in place of the engineering laws or design standards of any state or jurisdiction.
