CA: State Commission Calls for Restructuring of California's Water Management

California's Little Hoover Commission released a report on August 26, 2010, that calls on the governor and the Legislature to create a new Department of Water Management as the state's main organization for managing its water resources. In addition, the Commission recommends creating a separate entity to manage the State Water Project in order to improve transparency, accountability, efficiency, and oversight of the state's water agencies.
