Effluent Online Club - an undoubted hit with UK industry

Envirowise, the government-funded waste minimisation programme, is celebrating the success of its Effluent Online Club (EOC) following its relaunch in April last year - nearly 400 companies have already registered and their number is still increasing . According to Stuart Ballinger, water portfolio manager at Envirowise, interest in the significantly enhanced site has been phenomenal: "We already knew that there was a real demand from companies for real practical hands-on advice on how to minimise their water costs and meet their environmental commitments through effective effluent management from our experience with the original site. Despite the fact that this was specifically focused on the chemicals sector in view of the high environmental impact from its effluent, we we're finding that a large number of companies from other industrial sectors were registering at the site with similar problems."
