BIC RIVER BASIN INITIATIVE: REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

In conclusion, I wish to say that urgent solutions are needed, otherwise Moldova, once a very fertile agricultural country with a well developed hydrological network comprising more than 3000 rivers and streams, will transform into a desert because our surface waters will disappear. While rivers in the south of the country have already disappeared, we are now witnessing the disappearance of rivers in the center of the country, and our children will be witnesses to river disappearance in the north of Moldova.
