Florida Section Hosts 45th Annual Meeting

The Florida Section hosted its 45th Annual Meeting in Key Largo August 4-5. The first highlight of the meeting was the successful "Silent Fundraiser" and "Cooler of Cheer" raffle, raising over $3,000 to support our education program that includes providing support for students to attend the 2016 AWRA Annual Conference. We expect to be able to assist 25 students this year.The second highlight was presentations by leaders from all five of Florida's water management districts (WMDs). We appreciate Brian Armstrong (Southwest Florida WMD), Brett Cyphers (Northwest Florida WMD), Len Lindahl (South Florida WMD), Anne Shortelle (St. Johns River WMD) and Noah Valenstein (Suwannee River WMD) for attending the meeting and for providing informative overviews.
