EPA Moves To Allow Additional Comment On NPDES E-Reporting Rule

EPA is preparing to publish this summer a supplemental notice to its proposal to require facilities to electronically report most water discharge data, after receiving a slew of comments from state regulators saying they need more time to evaluate the proposal they believe could burden state budgets and infringe on state authority. The White House Office of Management & Budget received the supplemental notice of proposed rulemaking April 12 for review, and EPA's Regulatory Development and Retrospective Review Tracker (Reg DaRRT) website says the agency projects it will be published in the Federal Register in July, opening a new round of public comment.
