3M Sues Michigan Over Drinking Water Standards For Seven PFAS

Chemical manufacturing company 3M is adding Michigan to a list of states it is suing over standards aimed at regulating per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), filing a lawsuit last month challenging Michigan's enforceable drinking water standards for seven PFAS. In an April IS suit filed in the State of Michigan Court of Claims, 3M contends Michigan regulators set maximum contaminant limits (MCLs), or drinking water standards, for PFAS as a "result of a rushed and invalid regulatory process," also alleging that they are "scientifically flawed, and reliant on speculative and unquantified purported benefits to justify the costly Final Rule."
