Athough other industries have used vibration analysis for years to select and monitor rotating equipment, such as pumps, blowers, and motors, the wastewater industry often overlooks this tool when accepting, troubleshooting, and maintaining pumps. Periodic vibration analysis can pinpoint the cause of pump problems and enable you to save the plant money by scheduling maintenance before failures occur. Reducing pump vibration also lengthens pump life and reduces energy consumption, because vibration energy does not perform useful work.
