Who Will Save Our Infrastructure?

We shake our heads as a bridge collapses. We cynically shrug at news of large-scale water main breaks and sewage overflows. We begrudgingly brace ourselves for another round of hurricane season. And all the while, we wait for funding ... we wait for effective strategies. .. . ... And we wait for someone, somewhere, to swoop in and save our failing infrastructure. According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, the state of the Nation's infrastructure is graded at a D+. The ASCE estimates it will take upwards of $3.6 trillion dollars by 2020 to repair, improve, and rehabilitate our country's infrastructure-and that's not accounting for the damage and devastation we can expect to experience thanks to the vagaries and whims of extreme weather and climate change.
