Spherically granulated titanium phosphate of formula TiO_1.25(OH)_0.47(H_2PO_4)_0.77(HPO_4)_0.13 2.3 H_2O (TiP) was synthesized by a gel method and its Na~+, Ca~2+ and Mg~2+ ion substituted forms were prepared. Ion exchnage of some divalent metal cations (Pb~2+, Cu~2+, Ni~2+, Mn~2+, Cd~2+) by TiP-Na, TiP-Mg and TiP-Ca was studied in batch and column conditions. It was found that the ion Exchange performance of TiP depends on the ion form it is converted into and decreases in the order: TiP-Na>TiP-Mg>TiP-Ca.
