Another slice of the Daintree has been protected from development with the purchase of the 10th property by Rainforest Rescue. "We are pleased to announce the purchase and protection of this World Heritage Value property. Bounded on two sides by Daintree National Park the purchase prevents another housing development impacting on the surrounding landscape, land that is classified as 'essential habitat for the endangered Cassowary'," said the Executive Officer of Rainforest Rescue, Kelvin Davies. "Having realised this achievement without any government funding this is a significant achievement for community conservation, proving that donations from individuals and businesses make a big difference," Mr Davies said.
