'They ... shall no more be called Peaquots but Narragansetts and Mohegans': Refugees, Rivalry, and the Consequences of the Pequot War

摘要

This paper argues for a series of complex dynamics and relationships between major indigenous groups within seventeenth-century New England and the English colonial authorities in the aftermath of the Pequot War, and argues for greater attention to these developments between the Mystic massacre and the outbreak of King Phillip's War almost forty years later.
