Instinet Europe Hires Balarkas as New President and CEO

Instinet europe has rounded out its senior management team with the appointment of Richard Balarkas as president and CEO of the London-based Instinet subsidiary. Balarkas joins Instinet Europe following the appointments of Clive Triance as chief operating officer this past October and of Stephen Corker, who joined the firm in January as chief financial officer. "There is substantial growth to be had in Europe," says Balarkas, who previously was global head of sales in Credit Suisse's Advanced Execution Services (AES) group. "Instinet Europe is uniquely positioned as a full-service agency broker, offering a full suite of execution services - from algorithms to programs, direct market access and commission sharing arrangements - and we have more than 40 sales traders in Europe."
