During his 23 years as managing director and CIO of the Chicago Mer-cantile Exchange (now CME Group), Jim Krause played an instrumental role in all of the major technology ini-tiatives that were implemented at the exchange behemoth. Among his accomplishments is the design, development and implementation of the CME Globex electronic trading platform, which enables customers to access benchmark futures and options contracts available on any exchange virtually 24 hours a day. To mark Krause's legacy as a technology innovator, CME recently announced the creation of the James R. Krause Prolific Inventor Award as part of its employee innovation program. The award recognizes employee inventors who have been granted patents.
