NYSE/DTCC Clearing Venture Aims To Improve Risk Management

Nyse euronext and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. (DTCC) will launch a joint venture for clearing U.S. fixed-income derivatives. The new clearinghouse, which will be known as New York Portfolio Clearing (NYPC), aims to bring together cash positions and their natural derivatives hedges in a single pool for improved risk management and capital efficiency, according to Murray Pozmanter, managing director of fixed-income product management at DTCC.
