Eyeing expansion overseas, JonesTrading has launched an international equity-trading desk. The institutional agency brokerage is leveraging the Fidessa U.S. trading platform for executions in the European markets. For the expansion, JonesTrading Institutional Services opened an office in Charleston, S.C., in May and hired a sales and trading team there to cover the European trading hours, according to Will Geyer, the firm's president and CEO.
