'3G femtocells and picocells will deliver a similar user experience to LTE'

ip.access recently tied up with Bharti Airtel to help with 3G rollout using its picocells technology. How will this part-nership pan out? The partnership with Bharti is to provide in-building cellphone coverage for offices and business. This eases congestion on the core network by putting more traffic onto mini private networks within busi-ness premises. It also improves signal quality in the buildings. Our contract with Bharti Airtel is for our nanoGSM 2G picocells. ip.access also has 3G solutions, which we expect to sell in India as well. But, the current announcement is for 2G, not 3G. We are already engaged with other Indian operators, and have signed a contract with one which we hope to announce shortly.
