In Vietnam, a series of world-leading firms are penetrating deeply into the Vietnamese coalmining, iron ore, irrigation and cement markets. Typical examples are special tyres of Bridgestone and submersible pumps of Flygt. Preliminary exploration results of the Ministry of Industry show coal reserves in the Red River Delta region of 200 billion tonnes, and meticulous exploration in the Quang Ninh mining zone estimates reserves at 10 billion tonnes. Iron ore reserves are also estimated at 1.2 billion tonnes, including 600 million tonnes of Thach Khe ore and 100 million tonnes of Quy Sa ore.
