Kien Giang: Tapping Its Potential for Development

Kien Giang Province lies in the southwest of Vietnam in the Mekong Delta. The area is more than 6,300 kilometres. The terrain is diverse with a long coast and many rivers, mountains and islands. The natural resources are plentiful. The geographic and natural conditions form four different ecological zones: Ha Tien rectangular zone (Ha Tien Town, Kien Luong and Hon Dat districts), western Hau River zone (Tan Hiep, Giong Rieng, Chau Thanh and Go Quao districts, and Rach Gia City), Ca Mau peninsular zone (An Bien, An Minh, Vinh Thuan and U Minh Thuong districts), and sea and island zone (Phu Quoc and Kien Hai districts). These zones have strong advantages in agriculture, fishery, tourism, service and exportation.
